Pamela and Ahmed Wedding

With joy and excitement,

Pamela Olson and Ahmed Dogan

will begin a new life together,
and we plan on throwing a
huge party to celebrate it.

The ceremony will take place at the Tamaha Moon Vineyard for a small audience of close friends and family members. We will take lots of photos and hopefully a video as well!

Our joy will be more complete if you will join us at our wedding reception on Saturday, June 1, at 7:30 in the evening in the backyard of Bill and Janie Cox's house located at 1209 Sunset Drive in Stigler, Oklahoma.

We will have a dance floor under the carport (dolled up with lights and draped with fabric), our most graceful tree hung with twinkle lights and homemade glass candle lanterns, and a bouncy castle for the kids (and kids-at-heart).

Cake, booze, and a light dinner will be served. Weather permitting, it will be outdoors, so dress to be comfortable in warm weather, and also to dance.

Our Story

Ahmed and I met in the fall of 2010 playing soccer in the Bronx with a pick-up league called Manhattan International Co-ed Soccer. I loved his smile and the fact that even though he was one of the most skilled players, he liked to pass and let everyone touch the ball more than he liked to showboat and score. We went out that night, and we've been inseparable ever since.

He proposed in Istanbul by the Sea of Marmara where it meets the Bosphorus Strait and the Golden Horn in October 2012. We picked out the ring together afterwards. I was entranced by how "alive" the blue stone looked, and how it changes color depending on the lighting. And I know exactly where it came from because it's tanzanite, a gem more rare than diamonds, found only in the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro. A good excuse to visit said mountain one day and see the "birthplace" of my engagement ring.

Then we had dinner overlooking the Blue Mosque at sunset. So beautiful.

Guest Information

Plug "1209 Sunset Drive, Stigler, OK" into Google maps to find the reception site. Call or email if you have any problems, or just ask anyone in Stigler, "Where do Bill and Janie Cox live?" Their home is near the high school and the Haskell County Country Club.

A block of twelve rooms has been reserved at the Twin Lakes Inn in Stigler, located at 1810 East Main Street, a new and pretty nice little hotel. Ask for one of the rooms held for the Pamela Olson wedding (just to keep things simple -- so many people have trouble with the name "Ahmed"!).

Rooms cost about $80 per night and come with two queen beds, so you can find up to three people to share with and split the cost. (Join the wedding's Facebook event to get in touch with other guests.) Call 918 967 3700 to make your reservation. There's a pool, laundry and "extra space for parking boat trailers"!

The nearest airport is Ft. Smith Regional Airport (FSM). It's is 40 minutes away from Stigler by car, and we will coordinate with guests to figure out when and how to pick people up. A limited number of planes fly into Ft. Smith, so we anticipate several guests flying in at similar times.

Tickets in and out of Tulsa, OK may be cheaper and more convenient, but that airport is nearly two hours away from Stigler. We can still probably work with that and make sure everyone gets where they need to go, but it will require more advance planning, so please let us know ASAP.

When you RSVP, let me know when and where your flight is scheduled to land, or let us know the place and approximate time you hope to arrive and leave, and we'll compare that with other guests who already have plane tickets to try to minimize trips back and forth. You are also welcome to rent a car if you prefer!
